Today I spent $1 at work on a drink for me and a co-worker, and $2.40 on some fundraising chocolates a little girl was selling. Also I spent $5 to share with a friend on a bunch of flowers for another co worker, her name is T.
It is very sad, T's sister had a heart attack and passed away last week. We were her first visitors (which I didn't know) that she would see, she hasn't seen any of her other friends or another lady she is friends with at work.
T is older than us, she is in her 50's. I guess she is sort of a bit like a mother or grandmother figure. She is such a lovely lady. I think she was happy to have us over and be able to talk. We chatted about her sister, her family, work, etc. I think we might have cheered her up a little, I hope so.
Tonight we are having some mexican tomato beans with brown rice, and DF will have a steak. The beans are from the freezer. I think we are slowly making our way through all the bits and pieces in there.
Oh and I think we have decided to call the previous owner about the termite post because he is a builder also, and he will probably know a good honest pest person. I have no interest in any of those barrier- things and perimeter sprays, or the termite mesh or whatever. I think some people just don't know about it, so they get sucked into spending a lot of money on these things. Of course, I mean if you have had really bad termites it might be worth it and all, but I think a lot of people are just afraid of them because they don't understand, and they have been made to 'fear' termites. Eh. Anyway
Ok well I must be off to cook dinner now!
