Did It Hurt? (hmmmm...)

November 2nd, 2009 at 06:56 am

I do often wonder about people who ask that question. And I admit I am sometimes guilty of just saying No, because really if you are silly enough to believe it... *shrug*

So I can finally upload a picture for those that might be interested. It is too difficult to take one of my own leg so instead I just took it off the tattooists myspace page.

I am fantastically happy with the outcome and the cost ($320 - he only charged for actual inking time and not drawing time). And I have been told I have great skin and that he will do work on me anytime. It's nice to make an impression. Smile

One daughter now has multiple tattoos, the other two said "never again". Pain tolerance differs. Ha Ha!

The artistic side of me says very nice, the mother side of me says .... well never mind.

I won't ever get one, but I do think yours is beautiful, but then again ever since we had our own peacocks, I'm rather a big fan. Thinking if I ever collected something? It'd be peacocks.

    VERY Nice artist work!!

Gorgeous! I love how stylized it is.

Very nice! I'll be getting my own tattoo here within the next year. I'm terribly afraid of needles, but I've come to terms with the fact that it will hurt. Ah well, I love the peacock! I'm actually getting a japanese crane. Gotta love birds Smile

homebody: yes pain tolerance is very different. i was fine with it, of course it hurts but it is bearable. when we walked out, DF said to me in the carpark he felt like never getting one ever again. i told him to wait a few days and see if he changes his mind. (he did!)

    Very pretty!

Tattoos don't scare me, but tattoo removal does! Big Grin (My friend had some pretty massive tattoos removed, so um, yeah, her experienced scared me off tattoos. Probably didn't help I knew she had a pretty high tolerance for pain - those lasers can be pretty nasty).

Tattoo removal doesn't even factor into my decision when getting work done - if I think about removing it, then I shouldn't be getting it in the first place. Smile I would never recommend someone get something if the thought of removing it enters into their mind. It is a decision that will be with you for the rest of your life.

frugaltexan: that is mine Smile it is on my calf.

(i meant that i took the photo that he took of it, off his myspace page).

I don't think anyone plans on getting a tattoo removed. Wink
All I know is the only way to avoid that torture is not to get one in the first place. That is what I mean.

sorry monkeymama, i knew what you meant Wink but you would be surprised how many people i have known who have said 'oh, i can always use Wrecking Balm on it later...'

Very strategic to get the tat on the calf - calves don't seem to change in size all that much during weight gain or weight loss... at least the size of mine didn't.

Lower back, on the other hand, ahem, gravity/age/change in weight takes a serious toll on your booty, hence the skin on your lower back, shifting the tat. Wink

good point baselle! i also have one on each foot, and most likely the next place i would get one would be side of the ribs or back. but not for a while Smile
